Congratulations Carers NSW on successfully meeting all requirements to achieve Level 2 – COMMIT. We look forward to seeing how Carers NSW continues to build on their commitment to carers in the workplace.

Carers + Employers program is a project led by Carers NSW funded by the NSW Government. In WA, the program is represented and delivered by Carers WA & funded by the Dept. of Communities.

The Carers +Employer program centres on 5 Key Focus Areas across 3 levels of accreditation:

1. Carer Recognition

2. Policies and Procedures

3. Capacity Building

4. Communication and Awareness

5. Practical Workplace Support

Level 1 – ACTIVATE: Organisations become familiar with the minimum workplace standards and begin to develop carer friendly workplace policies and practices.

Level 2 – COMMIT: Organisations build on Level 1 – ‘Activate’ to provide clear actions and pathways to improve and embed carer friendly workplace practices.

Level 3 – EXCEL: Organisations focus on showcasing excellence and best practice of carer friendly workplace practices. At this level, carers are included and positioned as key stakeholders within the organisation.
