Ahead of the 2025 WA Election, we’re seeking commitments from political candidates and parties on supporting carers*. We’ll publicise responses on key areas like respite and financial hardship grants, increased support and recognition of regional and young carers, a new Carer Strategy, system navigation and advocacy and a WA Carer Card program.
*A carer is someone providing support to a family member or friend like their child, spouse, parent or sibling who is frail due to age or is living with disability, physical or mental health challenges.
I cannot stress enough the importance of your voice in the upcoming WA State Election. At Carers WA we’ve heard your needs and submitted our ‘asks’ on your behalf, now let’s ensure the government knows what matters most to WA carers. – Carers WA CEO, Richard Newman
Our election priorities are based on your feedback and in consultation with carers here in WA.
