We’re thrilled to announce that Coral Wilkinson, a registered nurse and renowned innovator in the aged care sector, will be a speaker at the Carers WA Conference 2024!
Driven by her passion to empower individuals with knowledge and skills, Coral has dedicated her career to supporting older loved ones to live well and independently at home. Her journey in this field was inspired by her personal experience of caring for her father, who had dementia and remained at home until his end of life.
In 2022, Coral published her book, ‘My Parents Are Ageing, What The Heck Do I Do? Understanding Australia’s aged care system to support older loved ones at home’. This book has been recognised by the Australasian Journal on Ageing, Dementia Australia, and hundreds of individuals who have gained clarity and confidence from its content.
Further extending her reach and impact, Coral launched her podcast, ‘Your Aged Care Compass’, in April 2024. This podcast, within its genre, debuted at an impressive 27th position amongst the top 250 ranked podcasts.
Coral’s presentation will delve into the complexities of Australia’s aged care system, which often hinder the very individuals it is designed to assist. Drawing on her extensive experience as an aged care navigator, Coral will provide valuable insights into navigating this system effectively.
Over the past five years, Coral has educated carers across Australia, teaching them how our aged care system works, what steps to take, and when, to receive the support they need to continue their caring role.
Join us at the Carers WA Conference 2024 to benefit from Coral Wilkinson’s invaluable insights and experience. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
